Tl dr It’s a shame how many people decided the game was going to be bad due to all the bad press it was getting, so made up their mind that they weren’t going to enjoy the game. That kind of negative attitude makes you look for things to dislike, whereas if you were expecting to enjoy the game, you’d either overlook its weaknesses or appreciate certain things. Out of context it kinda sucks, but all the negativity people had for the game was in place before it even launched. Then start looking for nitpicks to criticise, because they’re expecting it to be bad and want to justify that. Then everyone’s talking about how bad the writing is, and falsely equate it to the rest of the game. These jokes are being spread so much, that people join in and don’t realise they’re jokes, assuming the writing is actually bad. ![]() ![]() People start making jokes about the game being bad, noting cringe writing or lines. It’s arguable its marketing campaign so far has actually done. This is something I’ve seen happen before on the internet, notably with Strangers of Paradise.
